A Taste of Italy returns to the Italian Community Center with food, dancing, music and more
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It will take nearly 200 volunteers to bring the food and entertainment of Italy to the Italian Community Center this Sunday, from servers to chefs.
"These are recipes that have been handed down from generations and it is, it’s good homemade food," said Marie Andaloro-Lieber, president of the Italian Community Center. "We have 24 different entrees between Festa Hall and the Grand Ballroom. We have the pasta, stuffed shells, we have calamari. Festa Hall is where all of the desserts are: cannoli, eclairs, the gelato, the pizzellas. There’s something for everyone."
They've been cooking and baking for over a week to prepare. Andaloro-Lieber says they have almost 1,000 meatballs and 1,500 stuffed shells.
Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased at the event. Depending on what you order, foods can range from $2 and up. Admission and parking are free.
A Taste of Italy starts at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.
