GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers acknowledged Thursday, Aug. 26, that he has received the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Yeah, I’ve been immunized,” Rodgers said during a news conference with Packers media. “There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated. I think it’s a personal decision, I’m not gonna judge those guys.”

Rodgers also added that “a lot of research” went into his choice to get vaccinated.

The National Football does not mandate that players be fully vaccinated against COVID, but fines and penalties are in place for those who  violate other league COVID-19 policies.

Vaccination rates and COVID-19 safety among the 32 NFL teams are a major source of debate as the upcoming NFL season kicks off Sep. 9.
