Abandoned boat at Milwaukee's Bradford Beach being removed piece by piece

NOW: Abandoned boat at Milwaukee’s Bradford Beach being removed piece by piece

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After months of delays and confusion about what exactly happened to a boat left abandoned at Bradford Beach, crews have started to remove it.

Tuesday morning, April 22, footage of crews from Jerry's Silo Marina shows them taking apart the abandoned vessel piece by piece and loading it into a trailer.

The boat had recently been separated into two parts to make it easier to remove, but the task remains a major challenge, and it will take quite some time and money to remove the entire boat.

"It costs a lot of money to do a job like this and get all the hands-on deck and all the equipment you need, more than people would think. Then winter came, so we just need time to get all the pieces to fit, and we'll take care of it," said Hunter Black, Jerry's Silo Marina.
