Why this February seems so much colder
Wednesday and Thursday have been/be cool but the heat is on as we head into the weekend. After we see another below-average day Thursday in the 70s high temps will get back above-average Friday in the low 80s then rocket into the 90s for Labor Day Weekend.
Not only is the Labor Day holiday weekend going to be hot but it could be record breaking. The month of September has never hot 100° and while the century mark is unlikely, low to middle 90s are definitely possible. Saturday's record of 96* is safe with the current forecast but highs of 95* on Sunday and Monday would tie or break the current records. Tuesday will also come close.
Even though it's going to be very hot this weekend, it actually doesn't look that humid! Dew points will stay comfy for Thursday and Friday and barely noticeable Saturday and Sunday. For Labor Day some of the humidity will increase with muggyness expected. Tuesday of next week might be our most humid day during the hot streak.
