American Red Cross of Wisconsin prepared to send volunteers to Puerto Rico

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The American Red Cross of Wisconsin is prepared to send volunteers to help in Puerto Rico following several earthquakes.

There are currently 2,000 people staying in 20 shelters. Around one third of Puerto Rico's population remains in the dark.

Red Cross volunteers will help feed the victims and supply them with basic needs.

The volunteer from Madison, Wisconsin will help anyone in need of medical care.

"She would go to do some basic nursing," Justin Kern with the Red Cross said. "To make sure people are feeling well. They'll be going there, especially with such a stressful situation there will be mental health professionals, as well as spiritual professionals."
