MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An annual event aimed at bringing people together was held on Thursday across the Milwaukee area.
On the Table MKE encourages people to connect with others, share ideas and take action to better the community.
This is the third year the Greater Milwaukee Foundation has held the event. Several different topics were being discussed from animal welfare to criminal justice reform and pay equality.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Governor Tony Evers attended a session on the spiritual impact of gun violence.
Another session was held at Sherman Phoenix that focused on social justice and healing.
"The folks who sat with me today, a lot of them committed to look to take some of our ideas and move them to action," Shavonda Sisson with Public Allies Milwaukee said. "So maybe having a full day of healing, a day of wellness for Milwaukee. Having wellness and wholeness and healing activities in different sites throughout the city."
More information can be found on the On the Table MKE website.
