WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The weather was perfect for the return of Pawtoberfest on Sunday, Sept. 29.
The annual celebration of pets took place at the West Allis Farmers Market.
Dozens of people brought their dogs and cats out to make new friends, check out some toys and games, and even a demonstration from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's K-9 Unit.
This was the fourth year of the event. It is put on by the After Hours Rotary Club. Their members tell CBS 58 they hope today's event will give local pet groups some important exposure.
"We really want the non-profits that are participating to outreach into our community. West Allis is an amazing, awesome community and we've got so many people here that love their pets," said Pam Zorko, member of the After Hours Rotary Club.
The proceeds from the event went back to 15 local organizations, including several volunteer rescue groups.
