AT&T plans to end landline service across the US

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- AT&T is preparing to retire its landline network across the United States. 

The company says their landline service will shut down by 2030. 

Why? AT&T says only 5% of their residential customers are still using landlines, but the services cost the company 35% of its maintenance budget.
