MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new young adult novel was the focus Monday, June 15 when author Tom Cladis joined us to discuss "The Age of Serpents and Scorpions."
The debut book deals with action and adventure alongside themes of purpose, fear and identity. Cladis, who is also a certified alligator wrestler, talked about his life as a thrill-seeker and weighed in on the "write what you know" rule in fiction.
The conversation also covered why the Young Adult genre resonates with readers of all ages, what writing a first book taught him about chasing big goals and advice for aspiring writers looking to take that first step.
