ARIZONA (CBS 58) -- Signed from the Detroit Tigers organization. Akil Baddoo the outfielder provides exactly what the Brewers want - speed and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.
And now that he's in this clubhouse; How did he view this clubhouse from the outside and this team from the outside?
"A gritty team," Brewers outfielder Akil Baddoo says. "Fight you know to the end. You know what I mean. Use all their guys. You know athletic team. Speed. Defense. You know the whole nine. Like everything matters. And that's something I like because I feel like the ball player I am and I just wanna add to that. We're running bases every single day. That's the first time I experienced something like that which I love though."
Getting to know him? It just seems like he's a guy that's full of energy, full of life, full of positivity.
Does that describe him?
"Yeah. I mean once I'm in a new clubhouse. I kind of like read the room at first but then I mean I'm the type of guy that's kind of loud but like to lead by example and just bring everyone together," Baddoo says.
Eventually will he prank guys? You know give them a little grief? Trash talk? Anything once he gets to that level?
"Yeah I do a little trash talk," Baddoo says with a laugh. "Once you lace it up. Once I'm a Brewer? I'm like I'm all for the Brewers. And that's my only goal. You know what I mean? Anybody else, they're in our way? We're trying to get them out of the way. You know what I mean? They're just trying to keep us from getting that ultimate goal."
Along with catcher Gary Sanchez? Baddoo was one of the only major league free agent signings by the Brewers in the offseason.
He could push his way onto the Opening Day roster.
