MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- NFL scouts and other personnel were on-hand at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the Badgers Pro Day event on Wednesday, March 11.
It was one of the most important days in the pre-draft process for a group of young men from Wisconsin and one from UW-Platteville. This group of players is still learning what their role will be at the next level. One classic example is Brown Deer’s Zack Baun.
"To see the Capitol, it warms my heart to know that I am back home. It’s so nice to be here in Madison," said Baun. "Today was a good experience for me, even to watch my fellow Badgers do what they do, and show their stuff, it was a big moment for all of us."
This day was especially important for a fellow Badger Chris Orr, who was denied an invitation to the combine.
"The combine invite is something that you dream about, especially when you are a younger kid. Honestly, it just added fuel to my fire. It felt great to be out here with my guys, comfortable all day, smiling, happy to see everybody. I’m happy with today," Orr said.
