MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Wednesday, June 25, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates at American Family Field 4 - 2.

It marked the highest attended game so far this season in Milwaukee, with nearly 43,000 paid attendees.

Many of the fans were most excited to watch Jacob Misiorowski go head-to-head with Paul Skenes, who are arguably two of the hardest throwing starters in the MLB.

Some showed up hours before the game began to tailgate in the parking lots with friends and loved ones.

"We're in Milwaukee," said Brewers fan Bryan Stoehr. "So, we're going to win this thing!"

For father and son duo Jeff and John Batovsky, watching baseball together is a family tradition.

"It's great, I bought the tickets for my dad for Father's Day so it's a little late but we're really excited to be here and watch the great matchup," John Batovsky said.

But others like Joe Scaglione of Pittsburgh made an entire road trip just to attend the action in-person.

"Saw the game Monday, saw the game last night, and then we were actually going to leave this morning, but this match made us stay for an extra day," Scaglione said, noting despite where he lives, this game would be his first time seeing Skenes pitch live.

Other Pirates fans like Giancarlo Gil also made the trek out.

"I've been here the entire series," Gil said. "This is what the MLB is right? The best players in the world going at each other."

And for one Milwaukee man who's originally from Pittsburgh, Wednesday was the best of both worlds.

"You know being a Pirates fan and growing up with them I don't expect too much from them," said Andrew Goldner. "But I just hope both teams have fun!"
