A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After 30 years of service, a beloved Riverwest letter carrier is preparing to deliver his final letters.
Michael Boothe, better known as "Mailman Mike," is heading for retirement.
Friday, the day before his final route, Boothe dropped off mail to people in a community he's been serving for nearly three decades.
The letter carrier has worked out of the N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. post office for his entire career.
The postman says he will miss the people he has served the most.
"See, I'm overly blessed out here by the people. I'm bringing you bills, and for you to praise me as much as you do, I think I'm just a regular guy just trying to be happy every day," he said. "I like people to join in and I hope it's contagious."
This Sunday, the Riverwest neighborhood is set to hold a celebration of Boothe's services at their weekly farmer's market.
You can catch more of Mailman Mike's interview on our CBS 58 Sunday Morning show.
