Man charged in fatal shooting of woman in Twin Lakes

Kenosha County Sheriff\'s Office

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Charges are now filed against the man accused of killing a woman in the Village of Twin Lakes.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old Brandyn Hall fatally shot 37-year-old Amber Montana in the apartment they shared with their 11-month-old son.

He's charged with first degree reckless homicide (repeater), first degree recklessly endangering safety (repeater), and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon (repeater).

According to a criminal complaint, Hall told investigators he believed that there were listening devices around the apartment and that Montana was involved in a conspiracy to kill him. The complaint goes on to say Hall admitted to staging the scene after shooting Montana, to make it look like she'd been holding a gun.

A medical examiner's report found Montana had 10 gunshot wounds.

Court records show Hall's bond was set at $2 million.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 14.
