JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A bicyclist is dead after a crash involving a pickup truck in Jefferson County on Sunday, Sept. 6. 

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, just after 2 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 18 and Park Road in the Town of Oakland for a report of a bicyclist that was struck by an F250 pickup truck pulling a trailer. 

A preliminary investigation shows the bicyclist was attempting to make a turn when they veered too much into the roadway when turning from Park Road onto Highway 18. 

Authorities say the bicyclist died at the scene from their injuries sustained from the crash. 

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. 

The incident remains under investigation.
