Bobby Portis appointed to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin's board of directors
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Bobby Portis takes on a new role in his adopted city of Milwaukee, and that position takes the Bucks star far beyond any basketball court.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Portis was introduced as a newly-appointed member of the board of directors for Feed America Eastern Wisconsin.
He's worked with that group for four years, he's been the face of Feeding America's "PB&J Challenge." This appointment deepens his role and his commitment to improving food security.
"This isn't just a title that we offered Bobby or just a figurehead position we invite him to and he never shows up. Bobby is there, doing the work with our board, engaging with our board of directors, asking the questions, diving deep into all pieces that any other board member would," said Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin President and CEO Patti Habeck.
"This is a big time honor, honestly. To be on a board, not even just be on a board but just to have an impact on the community, that's given so much back to me," Portis said.
Feeding America is the biggest hunger relief organization in Wisconsin.
