MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you want to help out your neighbors who may be impacted if SNAP benefits end Saturday, here are two more ways to get involved.

Gather Bakehouse in Bay View is launching a community gift card where anyone can donate via phone or in-person.

Then, people with their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) card can access the funds for anything in the store.

"We've already had people coming in to access the funds so that's really cool to see the community coming together to support people," said owner Brittany Wohlfeil.

This was the store's second idea to give back after announcing they will be doing a bread giveaway on a first-come, first serve basis to those affected.

"Yeah, there were people outside at 6 a.m. on Wednesday waiting for us to open to get bread for the day which was really special," Wohlfeil said.

Just minutes away in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward, The Copper Turtle bar is planning to kickstart a month-long food drive as early as next week.

"Obviously non-perishables, non-salted vegetables, all that good stuff," said beverage director Patrick Green.

Their current goal is to hit 500 pounds of food which will then be donated to Hunger Task Force.

"Nobody should have to figure their own stuff out and starve at the same time," Green said.

If you want to donate, Green said to look for updates on the bar's Facebook page.
