Body camera footage shows deadly Milwaukee police shooting near 98th and Lisbon
Milwaukee Police Department MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police have released body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead.
The shooting happened Feb. 3, near 98th and Lisbon.
The incident started when officers attempted to stop a driver for a registration violation, but the driver took off.
The police chase ultimately ended when the suspect exited his vehicle near 98th and Lisbon and ran.
Body camera footage shows the man running through yards with a gun and between two homes before being shot on the front stoop of a home.
Milwaukee Police Department Chief Norman says officers ordered the man to drop the firearm, but the suspect refused and the officers fired, striking him.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he died.
The officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative duty per routine.
