I-43 reopened at Good Hope Road after being closed twice for flooding

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Both the southbound and northbound lanes of I-43 at Good Hope Road are now closed due to flooding.
It is the second time Friday that both lanes were closed following heavy rains.

The southbound lanes of I-43 in Fox Point are still closed, according to the Department of Transportation.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- I-43 in Fox Point is blocked in both directions due to heavy rain, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Traffic is expected to be blocked for about two hours. Drivers should use alternate routes.

According to the Associated Press, the North Shore Fire Department responded to the scene Friday morning to help motorists, some of whom were sitting atop their flooded cars. There were no immediate reports of any injuries. The flooding happened where recent construction has narrowed the highway. It backed up morning commute traffic
