MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County has been honored for their efforts in advancing race equity throughout the city. On Tuesday, July 8, city officials announced the acceptance of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's 2024 Culture of Health Prize.
Given to nine communities throughout the country, the award recognizes communities at the forefront of combating racism and advancing health opportunities.
"In every service area Milwaukee County has relied on the strength of these services that we provide to our residents," said Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. "Together we will continue working to improve outcomes for marginalized groups and individuals which will result in fewer people requiring our services."
The city was given $250,000 which will go toward improving the county's health and human services.
