Looking back on a slightly cool and rainy June
GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers surprised a teacher Thursday, who they say hits it out of the park every day in the classroom.
Milwaukee Brewers Caleb Durbin and Chad Patrick, along with the Famous Racing Sausages, stopped by Howard Elementary School in Green Bay to surprise a teacher with the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher Award and a $1,000 donation to the school.
Nicole Gardner is a big Brewers fan, so the gift of a custom jersey and meeting these players warmed her heart on this cold winter day.
"I was not expecting this at all," Gardner said. "Just so happy, so surprised, so thankful. I really have the best class ever."
"It's nice to come here in front of a bunch of kids who are excited to just be around us and definitely listen to what we had to say," Durbin said.
The Racing Sausages also put on a race inside the school's gym, making for a fun surprise for the students and faculty as well.
