PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS 58) -- In seven seasons with the Brewers, Christian Yelich has played more than 70% the games in all but one year. He had back surgery last year. So, he wants to end the chatter of being injury prone.
"Look, I've been out there for most of the games played the last five-six years. I don't know how I got this injury prone label," Brewer's outfielder Christian Yelich said.
"I've had some stuff flair up for a week or two, but I've played 130 plus games most years. Obviously last year was different with back surgery. But I take pride in being out there. I've been out there a lot, so I want to put that behind me," said Yelich.
How does he view his role on the team as he gets older and wiser? He's usually quieter. CBS 58's Lance Allan asked Yelich if he gets more vocal as he gets older.
"I feel like I've been pretty vocal in the past with guys helping them through the season," Yelich said. "It's leading by example. It's really everybody who's been here for a while understanding how we go about things and compete and what's expected on a daily basis, so you know I don't think you go out of your way to be inauthentic or try to be something you're not."
We've seen Yelich do all the workouts. So far, he's still on track to start Opening Day.
