A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers are getting ready for "Re-Opening Day" with a special twist on a winter classic.
The Brew Crew hosted a "Tropical Tailgate" Friday, June 4, marking the start of single-game ticket sales for the rest of the season.
The Tropical Tailgate replaces the annual “Arctic Tailgate” event, which historically has marked the first day of individual game ticket sales every year.
Fans were excited to be at the event, and the weather was perfect. Some were in line at American Family Field overnight.
"We came here around 5 p.m.. We've been here ever since," said Robert Tanner, who was first in line for tickets. "Camped out, first tent, woke up, didn't get that much sleep."
Fans also got some free swag including ticket vouchers for an upcoming game, limited edition Re-Opening Day T-shirts, food and drink and a lot of fun.
"We love the Brewers so we've decided that every year we'll make a trip up here and go camping, go to some Brewers' games," said Shawn Bliss, Brewers fan.
