Brewers looking to create 'Uecker Experience' at American Family Field
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers home opener is less than two months away; they'll host the Kansas City Royals on March 31. Monday, Feb. 3, we heard from the team about some of the changes fans will see when they come to American Family Field.
"The biggest change is no Ueck. We're still dealing with the loss. I mean we miss him every day," said
It will be the first time in more than half a century Bob Uecker won't be around for the start of a new season.
Brewers President Rick Schlesinger says the team is working with Uecker's family on a day to celebrate his life, and there's something else in the works.
"We're definitely looking at some kind of 'Uecker Experience' and that'll be a permanent addition to the ballpark. We don't have specific details on what that's gonna be. That's gonna be several years in the making," Schlesinger said.
The Brewers want to work with the Uecker family to create the "Uecker Experience."
"We want to do it right, we want to do it big, we want to do it meaningful and that will take time."
