Brewers schedule home celebrations and giveaways through August
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brewers return to American Family Field on Friday, Aug. 22, for a seven-game homestand that will feature player honors, fan giveaways, and new food offerings.
On Saturday, Aug. 23, pitcher John Axford will be inducted into the Brewers Wall of Honor. A tribute video and ceremonial first pitch are planned, and the first 25,000 fans will receive a Bob Uecker umbrella. Axford, who played parts of six seasons in Milwaukee, ranks third in franchise history with 106 saves and holds the single season record of 46 saves.
Bob Uecker will be honored Sunday, Aug. 24 with a pregame program hosted by broadcaster Bob Costas. Gates will open early at 10:30 a.m., and fans are encouraged to be seated by 12:15 p.m. Memorabilia displays and limited-edition retail items will also be available.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, the first 10,000 fans will receive a King Vaughn t-shirt, and Sunday home games now feature Murph’s Pocket Pancakes, including stuffed chicken and bacon options, at select stands.
Looking ahead, September promotions include a crew neck sweatshirt giveaway Sept. 13, College Night Sept. 18, Harry Potter Night Sept. 26 and a Brewers tumbler giveaway Sept. 27.
