Brewers struggle, lose both games in doubleheader
The Milwaukee Brewers struggled all day Saturday, losing both games to the Pittsburgh Pirates as part of a doubleheader. The Brewers are now 3-7 in their last 10 games.
In game one of the doubleheader, the Brewers lost 2-1, scoring their only run in the fifth inning.
In game two, the Brewers struggled to muster any offense until the ninth inning, losing 6-2.
The Brewers are 55-42, and as of Saturday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs (53-38) now own a one-game lead for first place in the National League Central.
The Brewers will face the Pirates on Sunday to close out the five-game series. The Pirates have won the first four games.
Major League Baseball takes a break Monday through Thursday for the All-Star Game and festivities. The Brewers return home on July 20 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
