GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Meijer and the Brewers teamed up to give back this holiday season, donating gift cards to children of local families selected by USO Wisconsin.
Each child was paired up with a representative from the Brewers, including radio personalities Jeff Levering and Lane Grindle, TV personalities Bill Schroeder and Sophia Minnaert and even second baseman Keston Hiura.
"This was really special, with -- being able to spend the night with, you know, Riley and a bunch of other children who...whose parents have served or are currently overseas," said Hiura. "It's truly special to be a part of... the sacrifice that their parents are giving to serve our country, but, you know, also the sacrifice that the children are giving as well."
The children received $100 in Meijer gift cards to purchase anything that they may need, including gifts for themselves or their family, as well as an additional $20 to pick out a gift that will be donated to a child at Children's Wisconsin.
