Brewers' World Series merchandise sales set all-time records
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The excitement for the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series has not stopped and neither have merchandise sales.
At the team store at American Family Field, a line stretched outside Monday morning, Oct. 26 ahead of Game 3 vs. the Tampa Bay Rays in Florida. Fans are eager to stock up on swag before it sells out -- again.
"We're a small market team they say, and we're just breaking records," said Nicholas Richter, from Austin, Texas.
According to the Brewers, sales at the team store after Game 1 set an all-time single-day record for the franchise and more Brewers merch was sold in the first two days after their National League Championship Series (NLCS) clinch than any other pennant winner on record -- outselling the previous record set by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022 by 5%.
"A lot of the country doesn't realize how passionate we are about the Brewers," said Richter.
Brewers fans also set an all-time record for National League Champion t-shirt sales.
"We've got such a humble team, and the guys are just really great people," said Terry Gardner-Smith, from Milwaukee.
Some of Monday's shoppers were coming off the thrill of attending Games 1 or 2, while others prepped to fill their suitcases with fresh gear for what could be an unforgettable moment.
"It was just electric. It was so great," Gardner-Smith said.
Other fans prepped to fill their suitcases with fresh gear.
"I am leaving early tomorrow morning, heading out to Tampa Bay to watch Game 4," said Michael Coyle, from Milwaukee. "I'd love to see history be made if we pull it off."
