BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating a bomb threat at Brookfield Elementary, for the second time in just over a week, after receiving a phone threat Wednesday, April 17, just before 1 p.m.

According to a message from Elmbrook Schools to parents, students were evacuated as officials secure K-9s and sweep the school. They say all students and staff members are safe.

Brookfield Road has been closed, and motorists are asked to use Capitol Drive, Barker Road, Calhoun Road and Bluemound Road as alternatives.

The school is asking that families not try to retrieve their children at this time, to help maintain order at the relocation site.

They say buses are ready to transport children back to the school, should they receive clearance.

On April 9, Brookfield Elementary was also forced to evacuate after a reported bomb threat. After several hours of investigating, Brookfield police determined the call was attributed to swatting.
