MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have hired Doc Rivers as the new coach mid-season, leaving fans with excitement and higher expectations.

The chants on the crowded streets of Deer District haven't changed. The city, still buzzing for a championship.

"I'm hoping to see them get a win," said Bucks fan Joshua Richards.

This time, there's a doctor who may have the cure.

"He’s been to a lot of game sevens. Just got to get to that extra step, but I think with this team, he definitely has the chance to do that," said Bucks fan Turner Krachui.

It's a homecoming of sorts for new Rivers, a man who could tip off a new era.

"I think it’s a great opportunity for the Bucks. I expect them to be more successful than they are right now," said Richards.

It's rare to start fresh halfway through a season. A season – with so much at stake.

"We were here last night. We saw him sitting up in the stands and I think it’s going to be a really good change and I’m expecting big things I really am," said Krachui.

Yet, it's a chant that continues to get louder, developing into a familiar beat.

It reminds Milwaukee they've been "Bucks in Six" and where they want to go.
