MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A longtime Bucks employee got quite the surprise Monday night.
Executive Vice President of Operations John Steinmiller has worked for the team since 1970.
The Bucks created an Employee of the Year award named in his honor.
Steinmiller thought he was just there to hand out awards to other employees and didn't know there would be an award named in his honor.
"I love my job because I’m working with people and I learned a lot starting when I was 20, and I worked with great people right up and down the line," said Steinmiller,
Steinmiller said the award is not just about him, but about all of the employees in the organization.
