Bucks welcome 1st-round pick MarJon Beauchamp to Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks started their off-season at Fiserv Forum Tuesday, June 28, welcoming one of the newest members of the team.
The Bucks rolled out the red carpet doing everything they could to make first-round draft pick MarJon Beauchamp feel at home. It started on draft day with a text from two time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"Giannis texted me," said Beauchamp. "He's like, 'welcome to the team. Let's go win a ship.'"
Getting his first Bucks jersey, MarJon took a beat to soak in the moment.
"When I got drafted to Milwaukee, I seen the love for me and it felt like home. And when I got here yesterday, it felt home and I seen a billboard of myself and I was like, 'wow, I dreamed of being on billboards, you know?"

On a team with Giannis, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, the 24th overall pick shouldn't need to be a star or even a starter right away. But thanks to an elite defensive presence he hopes to make an immediate impact.
"My dad was like, 'I hope you fall down to the 24th pick.' It's a blessing to be in a winning situation. I'm excited just to learn and grow with this team. I feel like I can flourish with this team," said Beauchamp.
"All of us are looking for anybody who can help us win. We feel like MarJon is a winner and he's going to find ways, but he's going to have to earn it," said Bucks Head Coach Mike Budenholzer.
MarJon says it is all still pretty surreal, but everything is starting to sink in as he walked through the court as his new home at Fiserv Forum and saw some of the billboards welcoming him to Milwaukee.
