CBS 58 checks out some upcoming classes at Glorioso's Appetito and discusses changes coming this fall
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you want to get into one of the classes at Glorioso's Appetito and Sage Harvest, you'll need to book now for September. The popular pizza and calzone making classes offer cooking demonstrations, advice and a real hands-on experience at a lower cost, for $55, less than some of the other courses.
Head Chef Michael Solovey has been coming up with recipes and ideas for two years now.
"Creamy Tuscan chicken-- we're making fresh pasta in that class. We do a lot of fresh pasta, fresh doughs," said Solovey.
While Glorioso's announced earlier this month that they'd be selling all of their businesses, including the popular Italian market across the street, Solovey says he's not going anywhere.
He will take over the new Appetito and Sage Harvest in October.
"Seventy-eight years ago, this whole thing started in this room right here. In 1946 They opened on Valentine's Day. It's always been about quality, about community and great customer service," said Solovey. "It's my favorite place to shop for Italian food in town, so they'd really have to pry me out of here, to be honest."
The Glorioso family says the Presta family from Illinois will take over ownership of the market across the street.
