Air Quality Alert: Wildfire smoke becomes heavy tonight
High pressure has kept us mostly quiet this evening after a stormy end to our work week last night.
We'll stay mostly clear and quiet through tonight, with mostly sunny skies expected through the day tomorrow. It may, however, end up looking cloudy at times tomorrow, as our next system builds in which will allow for Canadian Wildfire smoke to mix down into the surface starting even as early as tonight.
This will create poor air quality for most of the state, with the thickest smoke further into Northern Wisconsin. An air quality alert has been issued until noon on Monday, but the worst of the smoke will impact us through about the lunch hour tomorrow.
Quiet conditions will still remain for the start of Monday, but as that next system starts to build in, a warm front lifts bringing in not only warmer temps, but also more moisture allowing for heat and humidity to put feels like temps near the low 90s! These factors will also bring the potential for some light pop-up showers to develop late Monday afternoon, but more likely than not, we should remain dry and sunny.
Sunshine, heat and humidity will continue to move in through Tuesday creating the right recipe to potentially see some stronger storms by Wednesday evening.
