MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Pollinating the pumpkins is actually not hard for these worker bees. They're working hard to create honey combs for their colonies.

"Right now, when we looked in there, this hive probably, at this point, has about 25 lbs. of honey, and we're just into the honey season," said Rick Goetz.

Rick is the beekeeper at the farm. Jon Goetz, Rick's son, started Grappling Gardens as a place to grow garlic.

Now, they produce thousands of pumpkins and hundreds of pounds of honey a season.

"We get a higher production because the bees," said Rick. "We've got tens, hundreds-of-thousands of bees right here in these three hives. They're out pollinating all of the pumpkins."

While the Goetz family looks forward to pumpkin season, they're giving people a reason to visit in the summer too.

"We have a garlic fest in August, so if you really like our garlic, you can try a bunch of different varieties," said Jon.

You can also stop by Corn and Cornhole Day on July 28. You can also find them at the Wauwatosa and Port Washington Farmer's Markets on Saturdays throughout the season.
