MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest officially opens in two days, and a major headliner is ready to perform.

Chance the Rapper is taking the stage at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Friday night, Sept. 3.

CBS 58's Kim Shine caught up with him before his big day at the Big Gig.

"It's going to be very good all the way through, it's like an hour and 20 minute set or something, and we put together a really special set, cover a lot of ground all over. It's cool," Chance the Rapper said.

The popular musician and producer is from Chicago but has always shown love to Milwaukee.

He was here many times during the Bucks' finals championship.

For Summerfest, Chance says to expect some special guests during his show.

He's not giving up any names, but he has collaborated with one Milwaukee artist.

Summerfest will be Chance's first and only in-person show of the year, and he says it was an easy choice to make.

"It's a lot of history, it's like one of the oldest festivals," he said. "Every artist gets their night to kind of like bring their fans out and become...I know it's Milwaukee's thing, but it's like a whole Midwest thing."

"It's really cool. It's cool to be on the lineup. It's a bunch of other great artists playing. I think Green Day's playing tomorrow, Meg the Stallion. So it's cool."
