Charges filed in Fatal Shooting of Van on 19th and Atkinson

Charges have been filed in the death of Kemone Love near 19th and Atkinson.

Leo Sills has been charged with first degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He is accused of shooting and killing the 17-year-old love back on April 11.

According to the criminal complaint, Love and others were in a van stopped at a red light near 19th and Atkinson when a witness said Sills stepped out of a nearby vehicle and starting shooting into the van.

Love suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

The driver of the van told police he had recognized Sills and tried to get his attention at a stop light.

Sills exited the front passenger seat wearing a mask and armed with an assault-type rifle.

Sills started firing at the van and the driver jumped out of the vehicle.

The van kept moving across the intersection.
