Cheers! Milwaukee County Parks reveals 2025 Traveling Beer Garden dates, locations
GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) — Summer may seem of reach right now, but an announcement this morning is a sign the season is near.
Milwaukee County leaders gathered at Sprecher Brewing Company Thursday morning to toast to another upcoming season of The Traveling Beer Garden, as dates and locations were revealed for 2025.
"Milwaukee summer is something that's short, it's brief, but something we enjoy every minute of," said County Supervisor Sheldon Wasserman, chairman of the parks committee.
The tour will visit eight county parks from May 14 through Sept. 1.
"It really is just about having a fun party atmosphere in the parks all summer long," explained Jim Tarantino, deputy director for Milwaukee County Parks.
The first stop of the season is in Wilson Park, a new location for the year.
"It's really special that we get to move it around, hit the different locations, north, central, and south side of the county," Tarantino said.
The Traveling Beer Garden brought in $350,000 alone just last summer.
It has made more than $5 million since it began, impacting the parks system as a whole.
"The revenue that Parks generates in the beer gardens helps us run the other parts of Milwaukee County Parks that don't raise enough revenue to be on their own," explained County Supervisor Steve Taylor, vice chair of the parks committee.
With a focus on all things local - beer, soda, snacks, and entertainment - it's a way to bring people together in neighborhood spaces.
"I look at the parks as the beating heart of Milwaukee County," said County Executive David Crowley.
This year will be The Traveling Beer Garden's 12th summer, in partnership with Sprecher Brewing Company.
