(CBS 58) -- America has a cheese surplus. Fortune says the U.S. has a record 1.4 billion pounds of cheese sitting in cold warehouses.
Analysts say it's partly because cheese exports to China and Mexico have dropped. It comes after both countries instituted retaliatory tariffs on U.S. cheese.
Consumers are also buying fewer processed cheeses and opting for natural and imported cheeses.
