Chef shows off his love for Turkish foods at Mediterranean Cuisine on Water St.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For Ender Erk, his entrepreneurship beginnings started in 2020, the height of COVID.
"We couldn't go back because everything was shut down. We couldn't get flight tickets to do anything, so I'm stuck here and now it's been around five years in Wisconsin," said Erk.
Originally from Turkey, he took his love for Turkish foods and his culinary degree and opened up The Mediterranean Joint in Madison.
"Gyros, Adana kebabs, baklava, and we have falafels from Lebanese kitchens," said Erk, naming just a few things you'll find on the menu at Mediterranean Cuisine. Mediterranean Cuisine is his second restaurant in Wisconsin, located on Water Street.
His goal is to share his hospitality and love for Turkish Foods with everyone. While you're waiting for your food, he hands out Turkish tea to make you feel at home.
"When they're finished with their food, while they want to chit chat -- give them more tea," said Erk.
Mediterranean Cuisine is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
