MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- RSV cases are climbing as we head into peak season for young children. An infection that can seem as if it is a common cold at first can turn into something much worse.
If you're a parent concerned about RSV, look for symptoms such as heavy, fast breathing in your child.
One doctor we spoke with told us about the best methods for keeping you and your family safe from the virus.
"The best thing you can do is avoid people who are sick, practice good hand hygiene, going back to the Covid pandemic era, staying 5 ft. away," said Dr. Frank Zhu, director of infection control and prevention at Children's Wisconsin.
