HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The popular China Lights Festival in Hales Corners is coming back this fall.
This is the festival's sixth year showcasing dazzling light displays at the Boerner Botanical Gardens. This year's theme is "Nature's Glow."
More than 40 displays will be lit up with LED lights.
"(It) will feature ocean creatures, jungle animals and insects," said Guy Smith, the executive director for the Milwaukee County Parks. "The exhibit is 1.4 miles long."
Huiyuan Liu is the event manager, she told CBS 58 News that the displays are mostly made of fabric and metal.
"We have a team of designers who come up with the concept and the display of design," added Liu.
Production started about six months ago. Some parts are made in China and others are made in the U.S. Liu said it's important to share part of her culture with the community.
"I think it’s important to learn about all different cultures and Chinese culture being one of them, and this is a really fun way to experience it, to learn a little bit about one of the aspects of China's culture, which is the artform, and the history behind lantern making," said Liu.
China Lights runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 29.
