MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A group pushing for demonstration rights during the Republican National Convention continued to make demands Tuesday, April 9.
The Coalition to March on the RNC gathered outside the Milwaukee Police Department's community forum Tuesday night.
They say they have three demands that are being ignored: they want to march within sight and sound of the Fiserv Forum, they want the city's RNC ordinance repealed, and they want bodycam footage release procedures to be in place for all law enforcement officers working at the RNC.
The group says they don't want the city's police department involved in their march and they haven't gotten a permit from the city yet.
"We've led plenty of family-friendly protests here in Milwaukee in years past, including the March on the DNC," said Omar Flores. "We will continue to march on our planned route even if we don't receive a permit for it."
The group's leaders say that planned route is within sight of Fiserv and within boundaries laid out by Milwaukee police.
