Suspect arrested, charged with 2 counts of homicide for death of Kenosha woman and unborn child
KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha police have announced that Lawrence Franklin, the suspect in the Sept. 6 homicide of Amiah Prather and her unborn child, has been arrested in Texas.
The arrest took place in Plano, TX on Thursday, Nov. 21 by the U.S. Marshal Service. Franklin will attend an extradition hearing in Texas before being transported back to Kenosha.

The complaint alleges that Franklin shot Prather in the head while she was in her car at the intersection of 12th and 65th on Friday, Sept. 6. She was around eight months pregnant.
Prather was transported to Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie hospital, where an emergency C-section was performed. The baby, named Honesti, did not survive, and Prather was later pronounced dead at Froedtert Milwaukee.
Court documents reveal the shooting may have been the result of an argument over who was paying for a meal.
Video evidence and witness statements within the complaint suggest that Franklin was present when the firearm used in the shooting was purchased earlier that day at a Salem sporting goods store.
The complaint details a history of domestic violence between Franklin and Prather, including two pending cases in which Prather was the victim. Franklin allegedly violated the conditions of his release in those cases by contacting Prather and committing additional crimes.
Franklin is charged as a repeater, which could increase his potential sentence. He also faces charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and multiple counts of felony bail jumping. The complaint indicates that Franklin, who had a previous felony conviction, was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
He is not yet in custody and Kenosha police have asked for the public's assistance in locating him. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, so police recommend contacting them rather than approaching Franklin directly.
He has a large tattoo on his neck along with tattoos on his arms and wrists, according to police.
