WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Did you happen to drive past a Dunkin Donuts restaurant Friday morning? You may have seen some police officers waving from the roof. It wasn’t a stakeout but rather the day for the annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser.
From 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday morning officers were stationed at more than 50 Dunkin Donuts throughout Wisconsin, They invited drivers to stop in and make a donation to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
In return for their donation, customers got a coupon for free coffee.
Last year the event raised more than $74,000 in donations and they hoped to top that this year.
