MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Opening day for the Brewers may still be a week away, but today was opening day at Milwaukee County's 14-golf courses.
On a brisk, overcast day in Milwaukee, County Executive David Crowley helped tee off the county golf season at Brown Deer Park.
The County Executive pointed out that despite the pandemic, county courses had a record year in 2020, hosting more than 320,000 golfers this past year. Crowley reminded attendees that the money those golfers spend on county courses is used for more than just course maintenance.
"The revenues that are raised through our golf courses help us fund our parks department, helps us fund our playgrounds, our hiking trails, our pools and other natural areas throughout Milwaukee County" Crowley said.
The county offers a variety of discounts for golfers and allows you to book tee times online.
