CBS 58 WAUKESAH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Court of Appeals denied Darrell Brooks' latest attempt for an extension Tuesday, to appeal his conviction in the 2021 Waukesha Christmas parade attack.
Brooks was sentenced to multiple life sentences after he was found guilty of driving his car into the parade back in 2021, killing six people and injuring dozens more.
A jury unanimously found Brooks guilty of 76 charges, including six counts of first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon, 61 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon, six counts of hit-and-run involving death, two counts of felony bail jumping and one count of battery related to domestic abuse.
Brooks has requested and has been granted multiple extensions in order to appeal his conviction.
Court records show in November of 2025, the court granted an extension to Jan. 7, with no further extensions to be granted.
It's unknown at this time if this closes the door entirely on Brooks' ability to file an appeal.
