SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Crews responded to a structure fire near Pennsylvania and Commerce Thursday morning, Aug. 18.
The Sheboygan Fire Department says crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming through the windows and roofline of the building.
Defensive tactics were initiated due to the heavy fire conditions.
Once the fire was knocked down, crews entered the building to extinguish any remaining fire.
Officials say one firefighter was treated and released on the scene due to heat exhaustion.
The fire remains under investigation.
Sheboygan Fire Department would like to remind property owners of the importance of having a monitored fire alarm system in their buildings, which can provide early notification of fires to the department.
