Crime Stoppers: Milwaukee police seek teens wanted in gas station armed robbery

MPD

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are looking for a couple of teenagers who they say were armed and robbed a neighborhood gas station.

It happened Sept. 30 a little after midnight at Villard Food and Tobacco on 76th St.

Surveillance video caught the kids coming into the store. The cashier comes from behind the register and reprimands the boys for stealing, snatching an item from one of their hands. That's when one of them, who is in all black, pulls out a gun.

He tells the clerk to go back behind the counter and threatens to shoot him. The clerk keeps talking to the teens but does eventually go back behind the counter.

The two teens stay in the store as the one with the gun stands by the door telling the others to grab a few more things.

All of this while other customers are in the store who get out of the way.  Then the suspects leave, driving off in a 2023 gray Ford Escape with Carmax plates.

Milwaukee police say they may have only stolen a few honey buns, chips and candy, but they were armed, making them dangerous.

"I believe initially it wasn't going to be a robbery, but they entered the store to conduct retail theft," said MPD Detective Corey Harris. "However, they were approached by the clerk which escalate the situation for them. Feeling that since they are armed, they can take whatever they want and there's nothing else anyone can do about it."
