Cuatro Uno Cuatro Day turns 3rd Street Market Hall into a celebration of Latino culture
MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) — Monday is 414-Day, a nod to the city's 414 area code on April 14th, 2025.
As the city prepares for the big day, Milwaukee's Latino community got a head start on celebrations Sunday with the second annual Cuatro Uno Cuatro Day.
"It's very special. I was born in Mexico too, so I feel like it kind of brings a little bit of a piece of home and also to see other people that look like me seeing the music that I was listening to as a child, so just being able to bring that together," Ana Andrade, Mercadera Co-Organizer.
Kicking off 414-Day celebrations around Milwaukee, Third Street Market Hall transformed into a cultural Mercadera for Cuatro Uno Cuatro Day.
The day honors the city's Latino communities' culture, unity, and pride.
Dozens of vendors, live music, and cultural food feature the Latino's community's vibrant heritage.
"It's opening the space for more people and more diversity and inclusion being able to feel welcome and also feel like we can do special events like these here, so just opening it up to the whole community," said Andrade.
The Mercadera will be open until 6:00pm.
On Monday, the city of Milwaukee will unfurl the annual 414 flag and pay homage to the good land with events throughout the city.
